North Carolina law currently permits a notary to charge a maximum of $10 per notarized principal signature for acknowledgments, jurats, verifications, or proofs. Our in-store price is $10 per notarized principal signature.
This is not a state tax and it is not money collected by North Carolina. It is the store's notary fee, set at the current statutory maximum.

The witness fee is a separate store service charge when your document requires a witness and an eligible witness is available. It is not a North Carolina notary fee.
Call ahead when you need a witness. Some documents require more than one witness, and some witnesses must meet document-specific qualifications.
